What I was up to in 2018

It’s hard to believe 2018 has ended and we are already well into 2019! Like any year, it was a year packed with many peaks and valleys. Here are three of my highlights: The year started off with the most exciting adventure of my life! My partner and I summited Mount Washington, in New Hampshire. This mountain is just under 2 km tall and the hike up and down took a total of 9 hours. While this mountain is just below a height that makes altitude a problem; it makes up for it with some of the most extreme weather conditions on the planet! Some of the highest wind speeds and lowest temperatures IN THE WORLD have been recorded on Mount Washington. I spent weeks training and had to battle with a great deal of anxiety and fear about whether I could do it…and through hard work, perseverance and a great guide, I was able to achieve this goal!

The second highlight is that I took vocal lessons and sang in my first recital! For years I have dreamt of feeling confident enough to carry a basic tune in public. Throughout 2018, I took weekly vocal lessons. During this process I saw a great shift in my abilities and my confidence grew (although I was still a nervous ball of stress on the day of my recital!). But guess what?! I DID IT! I was able to get up and sing in front of a group of about 50 people. (My song was “Holly Jolly Christmas” in case you’re wondering). Don’t worry though, I am not quitting my day job! :-).singingSpeaking of my career, in 2018 my practice expanded to its largest size yet! To all of you who have sent me referrals, thank you!!! I value them so much, with each new referral you help my practice grow! I am also happy to have welcomed two fantastic practitioners at the office; holistic nutritionist, Samantha Guyatt as well as personal trainer + yoga & meditation teacher, Jennifer Tabrizi. More information on them later in the newsletter, which you can view on https://www.facebook.com/LisaTabriziND/

I have shared these experiences to reveal that exposure to my fears and anxieties has enriched my life in many ways. Having had these moments of transformation in myself, I hope to guide others to achieve their goals -however impossible they seem!
